What I have learned

There are more than just users when considering design for Business:
Before this internship, I had very limited knowledge of implementing the design with the business goals. I just simply thought a good design would be the end all be all. But in the world of Business, there is always something more than that.

This internship showed me how UX Research and Design is conducted in the world of Business. A great experience is undoubtedly important, but it is also essential to consider how these can actually drive value for the company. When conducting UX research or creating a new design, I should always have the Business KPIs in mind.

This does not mean that users are obsolete. Users are still core for me. And being their advocate and constructing conversations with them is still the central pillar of my UX value. But it is important to acknowledge the company's business value when moving forward with UX decisions for me in the future.
Be Nice and adaptable:
PNC is a large corporation. One thing that sticks out to me is how communicative and collaborative people are with each other. There are many teams and different departments. Throughout the internship, I interacted with 4 teams from different departments, each with its unique UX challenges. It is important for me to be adaptable to their needs and situations.

To see how I may help them to achieve their business goals. It is important to be communicative and thorough and consistently document everything to communicate with them properly. By doing that, other teams could easily understand what happened. And that is ultimately how I can provide the best value to the team and company as well.
